About the event

Campanella Children's Choir invites you to an immersive musical journey that contrasts the transcendent works of Johann Sebastian Bach with pieces that capture the essence of human emotions and everyday experiences across the Baroque, Classical, and Romantic periods.

In “The Heavenly and the Mundane,” we explore music that resonates with the beauty of daily experiences alongside Bach’s works, illustrating how he transformed ordinary melodies into expressions of divine inspiration. This program presents a blend of solo, ensemble, and full choir performances, weaving through centuries of choral tradition.

Highlights of the concert will include timeless pieces by J.S. Bach alongside Baroque treasures, Romantic ballads, and Classical melodies. With guest musicians and conductor John C. Hughes, Artistic Director of Chicago Master Singers, this event promises an evening of rich musical discovery and inspiration.

Special guest musician: Susan Merdinger Greene, internationally-acclaimed, prize-winning pianist and conductor.
